YP Chair Report:
Hello all! Lots of fun stuff going on in YP business world. Right now we are mainly focusing on facilitating young members to have their stories recorded in an anonymous format to turn into the GSO YP Video Project. We recently had a pop up recording event at the Seattle Intergroup, where we recorded stories from a bird's eye view. It's the first one and we will be discussing where our next one will be at our quarterly business meeting on January 27th at the Tacoma CSO (3640 S. Cedar St. Tacoma, WA 98409) at 11:30am. Business starts at noon.

Meeting ID: 896 6565 4743

If you are interested in going and need more information or help getting there, please email me at dist46yp@area72aa.org. Or if you are interested in being of service for the recording events!

District 46 YP Chair Report:
Hello everyone,
I apologize for my absence at district this month, this will be my last clinical for this quarter, so I look forward to seeing you all next month! There are things happening in YP world…
We hosted the YP quarterly last month and it was a success! I want to thank the district again for being so willing to support and be helpful! Special thanks to Howard, Dina, May, Laurie and Gary for help with setting up, I apologize if I missed anyone!
There was talk about updating some literature around work with minors. I’m sure Gary will share about his experience at the area assembly, which he generously shared with us at the quarterly. We are discussing how we will be moving forward with the Juvenile Outreach Project which gives outlines and some guidelines to working with minors. The topic is tabled and will continue
to come up in our quarterlies.
The main focus of our quarterly was about the YP video project that GSO has asked us to contribute to. This is an open project, there is no deadline, we are just looking for video submissions that AAer’s could play in a school setting. We want to encourage these submissions of YP stories from all over our area and plan to do so by showing up, having a pop up like video set up that we could take around to different districts. We hope to do one of these pop ups a quarter. We have so many ideas as to ways to create these videos in a way that keeps anonymity of our members and is sending the message in a short clip. Historically, there were videos shot of meetings from a bird’s eye view and we may consider something like that and also create what we would call “shorts” which are like the short videos you would see on TikTok, FaceBook, or Instagram. We think that these style of videos may reach the younger crowd because that is how they are used to ingesting content. As I said previously, there are so many ideas out there and our first recording event will be on January 13th from noon-3pm at the Greater Seattle Intergroup! If you would like to be of service and have recording skills or know YP’s from your groups that would like to participate, please spread the word! They must be 18 or older to be on camera. I will also attach the flier for the recording event as well. Please share with your prospective groups! More will be revealed and I will keep you all up to date on the adventure and for any calls to service! If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to me or email Seth, our area YP chair at ypchair@area72aa.org.
From Seth: “Our purpose is to help young AAs participate in this Public Information outreach project by coordinating all the technical skills so they can just focus on sharing their experience, strength, and hope. In addition to submitting the recordings to GSO, we will also be saving the videos we record in our Area72 Archives for the benefit of future generations of AAs to learn what recovery was like for young AAs in our time.”
Our next quarterly will be held at the CSO in Tacoma on January 27th at 11:30am. As soon as I receive a flier, I will share!
In loving service,
Jazmine H.

YP Chair Report: Jazmine dist46yp@area72aa.org
Hi everyone!
I'm sorry I can't be there today, but life is in session! Anyways, I don't have too much to report, but am eagerly looking forward to the YP quarterly that we are hosting on October 28th @11:30am in Anacortes! Please join if you would like and send people the flyer! It is a hybrid meeting, so anyone can attend from anywhere! I am really looking forward to discussing some of the topics that I brought up in my report at the last district meeting. I am especially looking forward to bringing up the Juvenile Outreach Program that gives information about how to work with the younger population in Alcoholics Anonymous, I would like to see if we could possibly move forward on publishing some of this literature. Also, please bring the flyers for the revision of "A Message to Teenagers" back to your group for your younger members! I will have more to report following our quarterly!
Thank you again for all your love and support.
Jazmine
