D46 GV/LV and Lit Report October

Grapevine/Lit Report October
Claudia B, Chair

I am glad to be able to participate in person.
My name is Claudia and I’m an alcoholic and service as the Grapevine/Literature rep for
District 46.
First, I have put together a binder with all of the current versions of the pamphlets
available through GSO Literature desk. It is available for you to see at this meeting. In
terms of GV/LV, there are books available and journals in both English and Spanish on
the GV website, which also has a lot of other cool stuff (especially if you subscribe).
There are also videos and thumb drives available at the AAWS webstore that contain
“Markings on the Journey”, a video showcasing the history of AA through words and
images from GSO Archives.
There will also be information coming up on the 30 th Anniversary for the Pacific Region
celebration of the publication of La Viña which is being hosted by Area 72. Planning for
the event began October 11, 2025. Emphasis is being placed on including both Spanish
and English speaking members. Also, on the AA website, you can find the newsletter of
the AAWS called Box 459. The most recent issue contains info on what happened at
this year’s conference and the Convention.
I will have more to report after the next Quarterly.
Thank you for allowing me to be of service,

Claudia B.

D46 GV/Lit  Report Sept.
Claudia B, District 46 Chair

I attended the September 13, 2025 GV/Literature Quarterly on Zoom (it was held in
Monroe). It was led by Jack J., the area GV/Literature Chair. I shared some details
about our district meetings and attending assemblies (which were quite different) in
Tonopah, NV for area 42. The account for the committee was increased by $1,614.43
due to a donation. There were some unfortunate echo problems due to room acoustics.
Jack is promoting the use of digital and paper literature (he had a desk-top display of
literature and books). He emphasized the need to spread the word about digital
resources.
Most of the rest of the meeting was a discussion of the details about Area 72 hosting
the 30th Anniversary for the Pacific Region celebration of the publication of La Viña.
Planning for the event will begin October 11, 2025. Emphasis was placed on including

both Spanish and English speaking members.

Thank you for allowing me to be of service,
Claudia

Grapevine/Lit Chair Report – August
Claudia B. Chair

GV/Lit Area Chair. First, there is a live proof-of-concept of the digital Area 72 Newsletter.
The discussion is whether we should move forward with both or eventually on have a
digital version. The printed newsletter is quite expensive but many people really like it.
The next GV/Lit Quarterly will be on September 13 in Monroe and will be available on Zoom.
In other news, Area 72 will host the 30 th Anniversary for the Pacific Region celebration of
the publication of La Viña.

Thank you for allowing me to be of service,
Claudia

Grapevine/LV and Literature Chair Report July
Claudia B. Chair

Hello,
I will not be able to attend in person and will attempt to Zoom in. We have guests in
town and they are leaving on Saturday afternoon.
I attended the International Convention and went to the Grapevine panel. It was very
interesting and the editor of GV and LV were both in attendance. They have so much
enthusiasm about these publications. Most importantly they discussed that, while we
cannot contribute to GV directly, we can buy subscriptions that will be delivered to
prisons. They did not have greeting cards available at the Convention, but they were
selling Journals and I discussed the future of the cards with the editor. They are
expanding the items available under the Grapevine publishing banner.
Also, in terms of Literature, several items that I found most interesting in the Report
Back was that the PLBB will not be updated/reviewed until Panel 77 and that there will
be updates to Living Sober.
Thank you for allowing me to be of service.

Grapevine/LV and Literature Chair Report – June

I attended the June 14, 2025 GV/LV and Literature Quarterly. It was live in Auburn and I
participated on Zoom. There was a discussion of the purpose of holding money for the
GV/LV/Lit Committee and that it was or host committee expend she’s and events, yet
there cannot be a treasurer per the Area. We had a discussion on the Literature and
Grapevine workbooks and their purpose and that the Grapevine publications are
Conference Approved Literature. We had a section on GV/Lit updates including: The
Next Frontier and the GV and Literature Catalogs. There was also a discussion about
our role as GV/LV/Lit Chairs and it’s educational (sharing the message) and not sales.
Then we briefly discussed the Plain Language Big Book. Our district representatives
should ensure that they are registered (which I have). I receive emails from AAWS and
Grapevine. A request was made for hosts for the Quarterly Meetings (Dist 3 is
September and Dist. 9 is December). Currently there are linked Grapevine QR codes
not conference approved but will be coming to NY. Finally, there were Advisory Actions
in NY to survey members of GV/LV presentations, updating language in Living Sober
and the future of the Plain Language Big Book. And, GV is going to be selling Greeting
Cards at the Convention
Thank you for allowing me to be of service,
Claudia B.

District 46

I was not able to attend the Quarterly GV/Lit Working Group on April 19th since it
conflicted with our April 19th business meeting in Oak Harbor. The next quarterly will be
on June 14 and I plan on attending. Information from that meeting will be presented at
the June District 46 meeting. According to the emails from the Area GV/Lit Chair, there
are AA Grapevine Inc. Zoom meetings periodically and I will try to attend one. I also
received an email promoting a Spring Book Sale for 20% off of certain GV books, a
copy of the GV information presentation, and there’s a new book, a collectors edition of
The Next Frontier (Emotional Sobriety 1&2). Also, our delegate in on the Grapevine
Committee and I am interested to hear about the agenda outcomes when she makes
the presentation. Finally, I have received the Literature Display kit (to display at the
District meetings and will be ordering separately a display rack (which I thought came
with the literature.) I have laid out what I received on the back table.
Thank you for letting me be of service.

April 2025 Grapevine/Lit Report

I will be attending the next Quarterly GV/Lit Meeting on April 19th . Information from that
meeting will be presented at the May District 46 meeting. Currently there is an offer for
those wishing to subscribe to the Grapevine to receive a copy of the GV book Spiritual
Awakenings as a free gift. There will also be a celebration of the XXIX Anniversary of La
Vina, hosted in late July in Southern California, Area 5. There are also podcasts
presented from GSO called Our Primary Purpose that has a new episode called
“Leading with Service.” Access to these podcasts is available through aa.org and
through the Meeting Guide app and selecting the News button at the bottom (if you
haven’t checked the News button out, it’s quite full of all kinds of information). Finally, I
have ordered the Literature Display kit to display at the District meetings.

March 2025 Grapevine/Lit report

I attended the Area 72 Grapevine/Literature Quarterly on February 15, 2025 via Zoom. Most of the discussion referred to the Grapevine. We were shown how to access the GV Rep resource page on the Grapevine website. There are wonderful documents on this site including the GV Rep Handbook and Workbook, a Traditions checklist and several scripts for AA plays. We spent less time on the Literature side, but I think that we ran out of time discussing the Grapevine. The discussion was lead by the newly elected Area 72 Grapevine/Literature Chair. It was very informative and I look forward to future quarterly meetings.
Thank you for letting me be of service.

February 2025 Grapevine/Lit report

Grapevine/Literature Chair
District 46
Thank you for the opportunity to be your Grapevine/Literature Chair. Having subscribed
to the Grapevine for many years and having accumulated and seen the development of
some of the literature over my years in general service, it is an honor to get to learn
even more. I attended the Grapevine/Literature Quarterly in February led by the Area 72
Grapevine/Literature Chair. We spent a lot of time discussing the Grapevine and
learning about the materials that are available for Grapevine Chairs along with the
materials available to the Literature Chairs. The Grapevine website has available a
Workbook for Grapevine Reps along with a Grapevine Representative Handbook. It was
also recommended that we work with Corrections and Treatment Chairs with respect to
the Grapevine and literature. There were also suggestions for members or groups to
sponsor subscriptions to the Grapevine for their groups. In terms of literature, there is
also a Literature Handbook along with a comprehensive Literature Catalog (86 pages,
too long to print) available on the aa.org website. Finally, we discussed future
Quarterlies and where they should be held.
I would also like to add that it was quite enlightening to sit through a PRAASA panel on
the Plain Language Big Book and read about it in BOX 459 published by the GSO.
Thank you for letting me be of service.
